Ministries

What ministry is God calling you to participate in?

Mission

At Saint James’, inclusivity is central to our understanding of community.

We strive to create a safe space to share both joys and sorrows. We believe that relationships and shared experiences are a key part of faithful living. Through Parish Community Ministries like church picnics and softball in the summer, making gingerbread houses in the winter, celebrating Mardi Gras before Lent, and Café and coffee hour on Sundays, we have many opportunities for building communities.

Connect

Welcome to the community.

We hope one of the first things you notice about Saint James’ is our strong sense of community and our desire to welcome you into that community.  It is much more fulfilling to worship, learn, and serve when we know, trust, and love the people by our side. We are confident that as you delve into the many groups and activities at Saint James’ you will find one (or two, or three….) that fits you and allows those relationships to flourish.

Learn

Learn more about the faith

We have several groups aimed at learning more about the Episcopal faith. We believe learning comes from Scripture, tradition, reason and experience. We believe learning is lifelong and involves asking questions, having meaningful conversations, seeking insight, and listening with care.

Serve

Giving back is our privilege

We believe in providing and supporting our community members in need. We are always looking for volunteers.

Servant Ministries

Worship

We worship God together

When we gather, we prepare ourselves to receive God’s grace, we come to the table shoulder to shoulder in communion (as a community) with one another and with Christ, and are immediately sent to share that grace with the world. Join one of our worship ministries that allow our services to occur successfully every week.
