Saint Hilda’s

Being new to St. James, I went to a meeting and was surrounding by so many kind and friendly members who soon became some of my best friends…I was fortunate to be president for a number of years and I strove to bring in new members, especially those new to St. James.”

-Virginia Vawter

Saint Hilda’s is an organization of church women who meet on the second Monday of the month from September to June. There is usually an interesting speaker or demonstration, a business meeting, and a social time at the end of the meeting when refreshments are provided.

The group has several charitable causes:

1.  A donation in September to provide needy children with   school supplies.
2.  Providing Christmas presents to children in need.
3.  Participating in the food drive by providing powdered milk throughout the year and canned gravy at Thanksgiving.

We raise money for our charitable projects through a bake sale at Thanksgiving and from personal donations.

St. Hilda’s Meeting: St. Hilda’s will have a group discussion on the book The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, April 13th at 2:00
