Firewood Ministry Update: 2018 Winter Newsletter

by Colin Borgstrom

The next Firewood Ministry Split & Stack Morning is Saturday, March 24. Click here for more info via Facebook.

Our firewood ministry was in full force during the cold winter months!

Working in conjunction with the Fauquier Community Coalition, our volunteers donated more than 70 hours of labor at the wood collection site in Warrenton.

From this site, donations of firewood were made to more than 60 families in Fauquier and Rappahannock counties that would not have had wood for heating or cooking without this ministry.

The pictures show over a dozen of our volunteers working on a cold winter Saturday during the snowstorm splitting and stacking wood and preparing for a delivery!

The spring months allow us to organize and get a jump on preparations for the next season; we plan to have split and stack events on the second and fourth Saturdays each month in March and April.

We can always use your help, whether you are an experienced lumberjack (or lumberjane) or simply wanting to get some good exercise on a Saturday morning – there’s a job for everyone!
