Jesse Ratcliffe

Director of Music

Jesse Ratcliffe is a native of Hinton, a one-stoplight town in southern West Virginia.

He is a graduate of Concord University, Athens, WV (BA); Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA (MM); North American Carillon School, Springfield, IL (Performance Diploma); and has completed post-graduate studies at Westminster Choir College.

Jesse is the choirmaster and organist at Saint James’ Episcopal Church in Warrenton, and Carillonneur at the Luray Singing Tower.

An active recitalist, he has performed numerous organ and carillon recitals on the east coast, and was invited to perform at the 2014 Edinburgh, Scotland International Music Festival, and the 2018 Thomas Rees International Carillon Festival in Springfield, IL.

Previous positions include Concord University and Hollins University (Roanoke, VA) as carillonneur, and director of the Staunton Choral Society (Staunton, VA).  

Jesse has been honored to study privately and in master classes with Dr. Evan Mack, Dr. Stephen Cooksey, Dr. Roberta Gary, Dr. Walden Moore, Robin Austin, and Lisa Lonie.
