“Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.” – Romans 12:13
Fauquier County is one of the materially wealthiest places in the United States. But that’s not true for everyone who lives here.
Roughly 4,000 people in Fauquier live below the poverty level. And in an area where land prices are high and affordable housing scarce, even more people struggle to make ends meet and to afford those basic needs like decent housing and heat during the winter.
Colin Borgstrom, who heads up the Saint James’ Wood Ministry, emphasizes that the need is everywhere, not just in areas of the county that have been especially left behind in economic development.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10 | 9-11am | @ WARRENTON COLLECTION SITE
Thank you to Rick Miller, Jody Del Signore, Lynn Ward, and the Borgstrom boys for delivering much needed wood to five families throughout Fauquier County last Saturday!
The Wood Ministry has identified eight families thus far that are in dire need of wood for heating of their homes this winter. We’ve been working hard for several months to split and stack wood for these winter deliveries, and we have depleted the stored wood from the upper site.
We are planning our next big split / stack / delivery date on Saturday morning, December 10 from 9-11 at the Warrenton Collection site.

Saturday, November 26 | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
The cold weather is upon us (in case you haven’t been outside!) We have been preparing for months by splitting and stacking mountains of wood at the Warrenton collection. Now it’s time to deliver!
Directions to the Collection Site | Email Colin
We are looking for volunteers to help us deliver cords of wood to homes throughout Fauquier this Saturday morning. We need pickup trucks or vehicles with sturdy trailers along with drivers and delivery volunteers. Teams of two to three with load up at the Warrenton collection site behind Walmart and be assigned 1-2 dropoffs in the county. Residents who will be receiving wood will be aware of the delivery, so it will not be a surprise when you arrive.

Wood Ministry Collection Date – This Saturday, October 15, 8:30a-12pm
Third time’s a charm! The weather looks very promising for this Saturday so we’re planning to chop and stack (and maybe deliver) lots of wood for families in need in our area. In conjunction with the local church outreach efforts mentioned in the newspaper this past week, we will have a few members from several churches also joining us at the site but there is a lot of work to do.
We have expanded the collection time to 8:30am to 12 noon on Saturday. Please drop by if you are in town and willing to donate an hour or two to help chop, split, and stack wood. If you have a pick-up truck or trailer, we may have some deliveries for you (in a team) as well – Lynn Ward will coordinate that onsite on Saturday morning.
