In Troop 10 there is always room for one more Scout!

Troop 10 News

About Us
Troop 10 (T10) has approximately 40 active scouts divided into 6 patrols. Ages range from first year 11
year-olds up to 17 year-olds, and from Tenderfoot to Eagle in ranks. We also are blessed with a very
active group of parents who meet the second Monday of every month except July & August.

Scouting's Goals
T10 uses the Patrol Method of Scouting providing the boys numerous opportunities for learning about
leadership and responsibility. The goals of the program include development of our son's in self
confidence, self reliance, teamwork, leadership, knowledge, citizenship, patriotism, and honor. The Boy
Scout program is unique in its all-encompassing goals and in its remarkable achievement of these goals
in the lives of millions of boys worldwide.

Outings and Activities
The scouts themselves decide the bulk of the program with some guidance from the Assistant
Scoutmasters. The adults help the scouts carry out their plans which include a monthly outing. In
addition to basic camping, we also backpack, canoe, rock climb, ski, bike, cave, and do other special
activities. Our calendar can be seen at http://troop10warrenton.com

Summer Camp
T10 attends a different week long camp every summer, somewhere in the Northern Virginia & Maryland
areas. In addition, we organize a separate High Adventure outing every summer. In 2006, we will
attend the National Capital Area's Goshen camp for the basic camp. In addition, the older scouts will
travel to the Grand Canyon for serious hiking & backpacking.

To date, T10 has been to Philmont twice and Florida SeaBase once. We've also canoed 50+ miles in
Maine, as well as Algonquin Canada, and even hiked the entire length of the Appalachian Trail in the
Shenandoah National Park.
