Greeters Ministry Summer Update 2022

Greeting is a super gratifying way to start your Sunday at Saint James’. Besides all the hugs you get, the smiles are never ending. The Greeters ministry at Saint James’ is one of the most enjoyable ministries.

As a Greeter you are the first contact for folks coming to church, whether for the first time or for the 100th time. It is fun to greet everyone with a smile and a bulletin. Introducing yourself to newcomers is a pleasure, and catching up on family and sports news with the old timers is a plus.

Assisting newcomers with the worship service, inviting them to coffee hour, giving them a Welcome Card and a Come and See Brochure, and helping them with the location of the nursery, school and restrooms are all just a small part of the Greeters job. Of course answering their questions about Saint James’ is the most fun part. Also, after the service, it is helpful to the newcomers to be introduced to the clergy.

As the new “Greeter Leader” I want to thank all of you who are currently Greeters, and encourage the rest of you to become a part of the great Greeter Team. - Toni Shreve
