January service project: Weekend Power Packs for Fauquier FISH

We are kicking off the new year of service projects with a student favorite. The Weekend Power Pack program through Fauquier FISH is intended to ensure that at-risk children in Fauquier County Public Schools have access to nutritious food during weekends, school holidays and snow days. 

One Power Pack consists of a gallon-sized Ziploc bag containing a non-perishable breakfast, lunch and dinner — three meals total. 

Here are some suggestions: 

— Breakfast: Oatmeal packet, small box of cereal‍

— Lunch/dinner: Box of macaroni and cheese, package of ramen noodles, small can of ravioli

— Snack: Fruit cup, apple sauce, pack of crackers, granola bar, bag of microwavable popcorn

Please try to avoid food containing nuts, since Saint James’ Episcopal School is a “nut-sensitive” school. 

Donations may be dropped off in the Parish Hall through Jan. 31. We also welcome monetary donations if you don’t have time to do the shopping yourself. Email Jen Taylor at jennifer.taylor@saintjameswarrenton.org if you have any questions.
