Worrisome Challenges for our Refugee Family

Our Afghani family is working hard to acclimate and become self-sufficient...however they are struggling with grave concern for their son/brother, Samin, who is in a difficult position in Pakistan, trying to find a way to reunite with his family and facing some danger.  For security reasons, no more details are provided in this announcement, but please keep this family and Samim in your prayers. The Refugee Ministry team is reaching out to Episcopal Migration Ministries for help but many challenges are apparent. This worry is affecting the family's ability to have a healthy focus on resettlement.

Additionally, our family has lost all government benefits except for Medicaid. They were provided with a three-month stipend when they arrived in June. This has expired. Both Mohammad and Rana are working at Walmart, while Sana is in school....the income from two jobs pays for rent and leaves them less than $900 a month for all other expenses. Despite this, the family is trying to be positive.
